About Rifle Adventist Church

Hi there!

Welcome to the ‘about us’ page! We first want to say thank you for checking us out. We are a church family focussed on kindness, family, and music. Our worship style incorporates guitars, piano, and the occasional autoharp, in a lively and joyful expression of gratitude and praise. Our study time (we call them Sabbath Schools – check out our page on those specific ministries) is an open discussion on the word of God before the main service.

Our team of preachers rotates throughout the month, and our lead pastor preaches the first weekend of the month. The first Saturday of the month is also when we host a potluck right after church. You are welcome to bring anything you’d like, but generally we keep our dishes within the vegetarian scope, just as an emphasis on health and inclusivity for those who might have dietary needs or preferences.

Our worship services are on saturday mornings, so whether you’re looking for an alternative to Sunday because of a busy schedule or simply because you are feeling led to seek a Saturday gathering, come join us! We would be so blessed to share in fellowship with you.

Meet the Pastors

We are blessed with two ministers in our church family. Pastor Dave is a veteran pastor who retired in the area and has been a part of the Rifle Adventist Church for several years. Currently, Pr. Dave serves as the church’s head elder. A skilled guitarist, Dave loves to play and sing. He brings joy and engagement to our gatherings!

Pastor Eliezer is the current lead pastor. Pr Eliezer also goes by Pastor Eli. He and his wife, Emily, have two daughters, Lina and Ella. Pr. Eli is the lead pastor for a district of four churches. He rotates his preaching through a schedule that incorporates the Adventist churches in Rifle, Glenwood Springs, Palisade, and Fruita. He loves to draw and paint and make music.

About Seventh-day Adventists

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream Protestant church with approximately 19 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus is coming again soon.

Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—make up one God. They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father’s will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.

When He returned to heaven following the resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.

Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.
